Potential In Plain Sight - Cultivate
Medium: 24h x 20w in, Oil on Canvas

"A mustard seed carries no visible evidence of the life hidden within it. In the palm of a child, it appears almost insignificant. Yet every forest, every harvest, and every transformation begins with something just as humble...Childlike faith!" -  Melvin D Nix

This painting is a meditation on faith—not as passive belief, but as conviction expressed through action. A seed must be planted, nurtured, and protected before its promise becomes visible. Faith follows the same path. It invites us to invest in what we cannot yet see, trusting that consistent care will reveal what was present all along.

The child represents the openness to believe in possibility before experience teaches doubt. The mustard seeds symbolize the dreams, gifts, ideas, and purpose we often overlook because they appear too small to matter.

Potential is rarely hidden. More often, it is simply unrecognized.

Sometimes the greatest miracle is learning to see extraordinary possibility in what has been in our hands all along.
