Hunger for More captures the moment when awareness turns into longing. A middle-aged African American woman stands in shadow, gazing through a storm-lit window—the only source of illumination in the composition. The storm represents the emotional and environmental turbulence that often accompanies awakening, while the aging window frame speaks to lived experience, memory, and endurance. Light does not yet surround her; it approaches from a distance, reminding us that transformation often begins in partial illumination rather than clarity.
 
Resting quietly on the windowsill, the caterpillar reappears as a subtle companion to her inner state. No longer hidden, it mirrors the woman’s growing dissatisfaction with what once sustained her. This stage of becoming is marked not by action, but by appetite—an instinctual knowing that the current environment can no longer nourish the soul. Hunger for More honors the sacred ache that precedes withdrawal, reminding us that desire is not greed, but the body’s intelligence calling us toward growth.
